Full Bio
Born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia (the country, not the state), Gio studied classical piano and oboe through the Tbilisi State Conservatory. The rippling socioeconomic effect of the Soviet Union's collapse, as well as continued occupation of his country by Russia, eventually led Gio's family to relocate to the US.

During that time, Gio played whatever instrument he could: the accordion in grandpa's basement, hours of bus stop harmonica practice, a borrowed bass that a friend had no room for, a thrift store mandolin that was too cheap to pass up...
"I have rarely encountered a guitarist who can master the most complex songs at a world-class level while sounding like two guitarists playing simultaneously.
Gio Barabadze combines energy, dynamics, and an intelligent touch on the instrument. He truly has it all".

-Filippo Dall'Asta
After seeing Marty McFly shred Johnny B Goode in "Back to the Future", Gio obsessed over the guitar, first learning dozens of classic rock solos and later getting enamored by flamenco and jazz. He rounded out his musical knowledge by continuing his education at MSU Denver, studying Jazz Piano Performance with Solomon Chapman, Sam Harris, and Dawn Clement, as well as continued mentorship in classical piano by Helen Gatlin and Janet Landreth.
"Gio is clearly a very experienced and skilled pianist".

Gio is now a staple in the Denver music community, giving regular concerts and performances, and has also become a sought after performer at events of every kind.
